Meisenheimer Hof’s cuisine
Even before entering the Meisenheimer Hof through the baroque portal, you might catch a glimpse of the kitchen, which occupies half of the ground floor and is the heart of the establishment. Here, Markus Pape and his team create fine dishes, blending local and international influences. They use the best, preferably regional ingredients, while remaining open to new culinary developments, staying rooted in tradition. Guests can enjoy classic dishes like bouillabaisse or hand cut Glanrind beef tartare, as well as three seasonally changing menus: a regional, a tasting and a vegetarian menu. The dishes are complemented by an extensive wine selection, with a focus on both regional wines and a fantastic selection from Burgundy.
Meisenheim surroundings
Meisenheim is a city ‘en miniature’, unique in the southwest of Germany for being spared from wars for over half a millennium, resulting in a excess of marvellous historical buildings. It has a rich history intertwined with European events, all set amidst a gentle and picturesque natural landscape. This is one of Germany's most beautiful regions, blessed with a mild climate, making it exceptionally sunny and relatively rain-free. Located at the foothills of the Palatinate Forest and the Hunsrück Hochwald National Park, surrounded by the romantic river valleys of Nahe and Glan, there are plenty of enchanting hiking and cycling paths right on your doorstep. Follow in the footsteps of Hildegard von Bingen, a remarkable 12th-century ‘power woman’ whose influence spanned music, theology, philosophy, and medicine, as you embark on a pilgrimage. Or treat yourself to a wine hike through some of the world's finest (Riesling) vineyards.
