Ô33’s Cuisine
The main concept of Ô33 is that there is no fixed menu. Each month, Chef Joeffrey changes the menu depending on the ingredients and produce that is available to him. The menu features a selection of dishes, each one inspired by the local region with homemade and authentic details taking centre stage but with a unique and intuitive twist. Diners can choose between a four-course tasting menu, the full menu or, on certain months, a menu without selected dishes. All of the menus are available with a wine pairing option that highlights local winemakers from the region.
Ô33’s Ambiance
Ô33 is nestled in the heart of Avenches in the stunning, historical residence that is the Hôtel de Ville. The restaurant is designed to offer customers a pleasant, comfortable and uncluttered setting in order to enjoy an immersive culinary experience with the food as the protagonist of the evening. The warm and welcoming service allows guests to relax and feel at ease as they are guided through the menu which guarantees that no detail will be overlooked. In the summer months, guests can relax on the large south-facing terrace that overlooks a charming old street that runs through the village as they enjoy dining under the stars.
Ô33’s Location
Avenches, also known as Aventicum, was the former capital of Roman Helvetia and is one of the most important archaeological sites in Switzerland. The amphitheatre is impressive in its size and remains the best preserved in the country. The charming present-day town boasts a central street littered with artisan shops and cafes and is well-known for its many irregular staircases, its 13th-century castle, its medieval monuments and historic buildings. Avenches is also home to the prestigious national stud farm dedicated to the only Swiss horses, the Franches-Montagnes. It offers visitors the opportunity to discover the equestrian world through an educational trail that is accessible all year round. IENA, or the National Equestrian Institute of Avenches, is dedicated to equestrian sports and throughout the year, more than fifty events are organised on the site. Dressage, show jumping, eventing, flat racing, and all equestrian disciplines are represented and most are open to the public.
