While enjoying the chef specialties, you have a beautiful vista of the port. The restaurant itself is decorated with dark wooden furnishing, red accents and various contemporary artworks. During summer, you can also sit down on the porch, for a lovely alfresco meal.
Luigi Pomata’s cuisine
At restaurant Luigi Pomata, you can order dishes à la carte or choose one of the two tasting menus: the 8-course “Freehand” menu or the 9-course “Tuna from head to toe” menu. Chef Luigi Pomata presents traditional and local dishes with a creative and innovative twist. Expect fish-based options like his “sea carbonara”, consisting of egg pasta spaghetti with smoked tuna and swordfish, mussels, shrimps and eggs. And lightly-seared red tuna fillet with foie gras, eggplant caviar, lemon and red wine sauce. The chef also offers regional meat specialties, such as Sardinian beef filet with licorice sauce and cardoncelli mushrooms, sautéed in a pan with thyme. For dessert, expect delicious Italian treats like Cannoli with sheep's milk ricotta foam and ice cream. In addition to its excellent food, the restaurant also offers exciting wine tastings. Good to know: in the restaurant’s lounge bar next door, you can sip on all types of aperitifs and stylish cocktails.
Cagliari surroundings
Cagliari is one of the most popular tourist destinations in southern Sardinia. The cliffs, caves, and ponds that dot this volcanic island make it an enchanting place. Worth seeing are two areas that offer spectacular nature: Capo Carbonara on the Gulf of Cagliari to the east, and Capo Teulada located in the west. A short distance from Cagliari is the small town of Pula, with the historic ruins of Nora, an ancient Roman city.
