In Rau restaurant, chef Klemens Schraml showcases a simple yet complex craftsmanship. He likes to do things differently. While creating his recipes and dishes, he’s not only concerned with improving the taste and texture: his goal is to refine the base product itself as well. Chef Schraml is very much aware of how important it is to take the origin of the produce into account. He always considers how, when and where the food is grown, as these factors play a big role in the gastronomic experience. His unique nature-based cuisine revolves around seasonal products. As a result, his gastronomic creations are full of aroma, taste and texture. An unparalleled treat for your palate.

Rau is uniquely located on the edge of the Kalkalpen National Park in Austria. Covering 51,460 acres, this impressively large park opened in 1997 and includes Central Europe's largest forested area. Here, you can visit panorama view tower Wurbauerkogel, near Windischgarsten. The park also offers various trails and opportunities for you to go hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding.
