Jan-Philipp Berner is chef at restaurant Dorint Söl'ring Hof. After his culinary training under renowned star chefs, Jan-Philipp joined the kitchen at Sylter Söl'ring Hof by top chef Johannes King in 2013. Here, Jan-Philipp has impressed the gourmet world with his creative German cuisine. His outstanding dishes were awarded in the world championship in 2013, where he won the title of Culinary Champion and was named Germany's best young chef. The Jeunes Restaurateurs Talent Award was presented to him in 2019, and his cooking at Dorint Söl'ring Hof has received two Michelin stars.

At restaurant Dorint Söl'ring Hof, host and 2-star chef Johannes King and chef Jan-Philipp Berner are working their culinary magic in a fully open country kitchen. Together with their team, they use only the best ingredients that the island of Sylt has to offer. Each dish can be perfectly paired with an excellent glass of wine from the extensive wine list that holds over 800 brilliant labels. Chef Jan-Philipp Berner relies on local and honest products. Most of the fruits and vegetables he uses are grown on the island, including fish and seafood that are caught by the fishermen. Every so often, chefs Johannes and Jan-Philipp venture out to the North Sea to catch fresh seafood with their own fishing boat. From most of the seats inside the restaurant you can look directly into the kitchen, where the team around patron chef Johannes King and head chef Jan-Philipp Berner conjure up exciting dishes. The restaurant has received 2 Michelin stars, as well as a green Michelin star for its outstanding sustainable accomplishments.

Restaurant Dorint Söl'ring Hof is situated in the town of Rantum, on the island of Sylt that is part of Germany, located right underneath Denmark. Inside, you will feel right at home in the high-quality Nordic style interior that combines elegance with comfort. The restaurant has a breathtaking ocean view, and if the weather is good, you can enjoy your food and drinks outside on the cozy terrace. You will have a view of the Wadden Sea on one side of the inn, and impressive cliffs, fjords and beaches on the other. Interesting sights in the area include the Rantum Basin, a bird conservation area with over 60 species. For outdoor lovers, the island has various picturesque hiking and cycling routes, with beautiful calming seaside views.
