Tante Kee’s cuisine
The menu at restaurant Tante Kee is not just a regular menu. It changes from season to season and is customized accordingly. There’s a special island feeling presentat Tante Kee’s. You can see this in the kitchen, which is classically French inspired but gives priority to the regional products that are currently available on the island. Specialties among diners are the asparagus with miso, egg yolk and Kaagse buttermilk, and the locally-caught cod in red curry with black rice and corn. The sommelier matches each dish with a special wine, to completely satisfy your taste buds.
Kaag surroundings
Tante Kee is located in the village of Kaag, which lies on an island called Kagereiland, situated on the Kager Lakes. The outdoor terrace gives you a wonderful view of the lake and the cozy surrounding harbour area. The restaurant recently got a total revamp by chef Raymond Reeb and hostess Kim Edwards. The new interior is modern, light, and slightly reminiscent of the old Dutch Tante Kee. A wonderful eye-catcher is the photo of Tante Kee 2.0, taken by famous Dutch photographer Erwin Olaf. The Kager Lakes offer a wide range of outdoor activities on and off the water. You can easily rent a sailboat, or take a bicycle and enjoy the many beautiful routes like the Pontjesroute, guiding you through a typical Dutch landscape lakes, with watercourses and endless meadows.
