Giovani Oosters isn’t just your ordinary chef. He learned the tricks of the trade at multiple Michelin-starred restaurants such as Hof van Cleve (Kruishoutem) and Clos Saint-Denis (Kortessem). After starring in the Belgian "Expedition Robinson", he quickly rose to fame. Giovanni presented various cooking programs on regional channels, cooking on the national entertainment show "1000 zonnen", and eventually got his own cooking show "Vegetables from Gio". Next to running his own hotel restaurant, Vous lé Vous in Hasselt, the young chef is always working on another culinary project, cooking workshop, or at his brasserie in the heart of Hasselt: Het Smaaksalon.

The restaurant is housed in a beautifully renovated farmhouse, which is also home to a 4-star boutique hotel (B&B) with 10 luxurious rooms and suites. It’s the perfect place to escape from the hustle and bustle of every day. You might know Giovani from the TV show "Expedition Robinson” in Belgium, where he tried to seduce his starving fellow candidates with his extraordinary cuisine. Speaking of which: his cooking was honoured with one Michelin star, but in 2015 he voluntarily handed this star in, so he could focus on other projects such as his B&B. Nonetheless, chef Giovani’s dishes surely are star-worthy. Next to the intimate dining room, there’s also a sunny patio where you can wine and dine, if the weather allows it.
