The villa has a beautiful terrace with a view over the surrounding trees, some of which are over a century old. You can also enjoy an aperitif or dinner in the atmospheric second dining spot, BAR. And don’t worry about going home soon, as Villa Ruimzicht has the most comfortable suites for you to stay the night.
Lokaal’s cuisine
Using the best local products from nearby farmers, chef Bjorn Massop transforms these ingredients into modern, elegant dishes. After many years of experience in top restaurants, Bjorn now realizes his dream here, preparing contemporary dishes and giving them a unique Achterhoek twist. Favorites on the menu include wild duck breast with stew of the leg, roasted grains, puree of watercress, kumquat and gravy with spicy green elderberry. A complex, but perfectly balanced dish. The beautiful wine list is compiled by the sommelier and perfectly complements every dish. A wide variety of non-alcoholic beverages is also available.
Doetinchem surroundings
Situated in the town of Doetinchem, the surrounding area offers many activities. Park Overstegen is great for hiking and offers special cycling routes. Interesting sights close to Villa Ruimzicht include the historic castle De Kelder and the City Museum of Doetinchem.

Hotel Villa Ruimzicht
Kees Hensen bought Villa Ruimzicht in 2007 and put it through a process of restoration that turned the property into a modern four-star hotel. The luxurious hotel now includes 42 spacious hotel rooms, two restaurants, a cooking studio, a veranda with lounge terrace, and several meeting rooms. A combination of the historical atmosphere and contemporary design can be found in all 42 hotel rooms. Every room has Wi-Fi access, a digital lighting system, as well as high-quality audio and video equipment.
