A skilled top chef who conjures up mouthwatering Alpine cuisine
At the heart of this Austrian culinary hotspot is the remarkably talented chef Josef Mühlmann. The location used to be his grandfather’s farm. But Josef’s father, Alois Mühlmann, inherited the spot and decided to transform it into the ultimate fine-dining hotel restaurant. Together with his wife Monika, Alois created an inn where connoisseurs could go for good food, good drinks, and good sleep. Alois replaced the existing wine selection with high-quality options. And Monika started serving refined dishes in smaller portions. In 2003, their son Josef joined the team. Inheriting his mother’s cooking skills, it was only a matter of time until he’d start working as a restaurant chef. He likes to keep the Gannerhof menu as organic as possible, and does so by closely collaborating with no fewer than 46 local producers. As a cook, he’s truly one of a kind: you’ll often find him asking his guests what they’d like to eat, before he goes to the market for fresh seasonal products.
Don't ever compromise on quality.
