Drawing culinary inspiration from his mother’s homeland, Russia, chef Alexander Wulf demonstrates great creativity and artistry in the kitchen. His gastronomic talents already started shining through at an early age. After his training, Alexander studied with chef Joachim Wissler and chef Dieter Müller, and at restaurants like the Steinheuer restaurant and the Château Wagyu in Belgium. Then, seven years at gourmet St. Jacques (Heinsberg) followed. Here, he worked as a sous chef for four years, and then as a head chef for three years. In March 2018, Wulf was ready for his next career step. Together with his friend Ronny, he took over the two restaurants that Burgstuben Residenz housed at the time. That same year already, his efforts were awarded one Michelin star. Staying true to his roots and kitchen philosophy, the chef-owner started out with classic French cuisine with a Russian twist. But now, at TROYKA restaurant, his cuisine is more regional and more authentically Russian than ever before. His TV appearance in several cooking contests, including “Das perfekte Profi Dinner”, “Ready to Beef” and “Kitchen Impossible”, catapulted chef Alexander into stardom and earned him the title of the “only Russian star chef in the world”.
