German chef Ludger Helbig was born in 1972. He has worked at multiple renowned restaurants, including Steinheuers restaurant (Bad Neuenahr), the Hotel Königshof (Munich), Am Marstall (Munich), and the Alpenhotel Krone (Pfronten). In 2007, Ludger took over Michelin-starred restaurant Zum Alten Rentamt from Ingo Holland. Developing his modern spice cuisine, chef Helbig earned his first Michelin star in 2009. In 2013, he became the owner of the Auberge de Temple in Johannesberg. His in-house gourmet restaurant, Auberge de Temple, held one Michelin star from 2014 to 2017. In 2015, this prestigious achievement was followed by 16 points from Gault Millau.
