A multi-award-winning owner-chef & culinary entrepreneur with a passion for creative cuisine
Anton Schmaus is owner and chef at restaurant Storstad. Anton grew up in his family’s hotel and restaurant business and attended the Benedictine boarding school in Metten. After his culinary training, Anton joined the kitchens of various high-end restaurants, including restaurant F12 in Stockholm and Per Se in New York. In 2009 Anton opened his first restaurant, Historisches Eck, which was awarded one Michelin star. Next, the chef opened restaurant Storstad in 2014, in Regensburg's historic Goliathhaus. After this followed the opening of his second restaurant, Sticky Fingers in 2016, Café Antoinette in St. Emmeram Castle in 2017, and the Aska sushi bar in 2019. In addition to running his restaurants, Anton Schmaus has been the head chef of the German national soccer team since August 2017.
I would describe my cooking style as a creative interaction between the big wide world, especially Asia, Sweden, and my homeland of Bavaria.
